I posted these images up on the AM forums but I thought they are so important and funny I needed to share them here. Watterson is a genius more so then I even knew. he is a master of the golden pose. with his magnificent one panel drawings he has been abel to tell an entire story with a few quick strokes. thank you Mr watterson

The Council Meeting

So our first Q&A was held last night. Unfortunately I though tit was tonight. Allow me to explain. My Q&A time slot is Friday at 12am. I thought that this meant to meet at Friday night turning into Saturday night. But NOoooooooo. Its Thursday going to Friday. If it wasn’t for an amazing bit of luck i would have completely missed the entire session, but as I lucked out i was able to miss only the first 20 min.

The Q&A was really great, we all got to talk about why and how we came to animation and what out motivations were. Our mentor, Randy Haycock, then talk a little bit about himself and his reasons for being an animator. After that we had enough time to ask a couple of questions. I asked how is it that he was able to stay in character when dealing with animating a scene that could last for day (in work time). He talked about researching your character and a method acting technique called recall. It was really fantastic. Already from the get go we started learning. Now, I am eager to start on the assignments even more so then before

The end of day one!

Well, the sun has set on my first day at AM. I've posted and made friends, created my profiles and such. I think I must have watched everything twice and read through the syllabus 17 times. I am eager to start the first assignment. I also saw a couple of great blogs so I think I have a good idea how to post the information for anyone who may happen to stumble across my little blog.

I’m nervous and excited, the kind of nervous excitement you get before any big event in your life. Its like when you are planning a trip to Disney and you know your going ot get up early but you still cant fall asleep. That’s how I am. I’ itching to start and get past this first intro week and get into the meat of things. And I cant wait to see what my fellow students are going to create. I can’t wait to have to push myself beyond my comfort zone. I guess I just can’t wait!

and so the adventure begins

Well my adventure is about to begin with Animation mentor. I thought I should chronical my next year and a half so that others may be able to gleam some insight into the whole process. i know i learned a lot from other people's blogs. So far there has been a lot of log in confusion but soon it will be time and I am super excited. I already have a bit of experience in character animation, but i am eager to learn just how much i really dont know and unuderstand. Im hoping that i will find insight into what it is that is eluding me in my quest to learn animation. The ability to touch someones heart and to captivate an audience for even just a little bit is the most amazing thing in the world to me. I've always wanted to be a storyteller. I am very lucky that my love for animation and story may give me the chance to do just that.
